I have done 4,284 hits. All were accepted except 5. One of those was wrong because the person requesting the work told everyone to make their submission code their age followed by a 4 digit number they gave everyone (same number for all). Mine was rejected with the message of wrong code because another 32 year old had submitted the same code before me. Weird, but okay. So today I check in and I see 567 hits were rejected today. All were from this requestor: Neel S. Joshi All of them had this title: Rank pairs of images according to their quality All of them were correctly done, and were done yesterday and early this morning. Do I have any recourse when requestors make mistakes?
Neel S. Joshi looks to be fraud, he also reject my 59 hits, which are accurate from any point of view. This happens first time with my work in last three years.
The same thing happened to me, all HITs I have done from this NEEL S. JOSHI were rejected, I was too shock when I login to my mturk this morning, my rejected before was hardly 80 out of 9400 HITs, and now its above 100 because of this requester. I dont think its a mistake from workers like us, it must be an error from Neel S. Joshi, I hope something can be done on this.
I can't find an email address for mturk. So the person that rejected all the hits can presumably do the same thing again. There were over 4,000 hits in that group and all were done by turkers. I know because I worked on them from when they said 4,000 until there weren't any left. How do the turkers get paid who did the 4,000+ hits? Or are we just sol for all that work because the requester rejected almost all of the work done by everyone?
That's why I never work on too many HITs at once by a relatively new Requester. If a Requester rejects your HIT, there's nothing you (or even the Requester, for that matter) can do to get it undone. If you feel that your work is wrongly rejected, the most you can do is write to the Requester (or/and blog about it ). If he/she realizes it's a mistake & is a kind soul, there will be a response & he/she might even agree to compensate for the mistake through bonus. However, when such things happen, it's the HIT Approval Rate that gets fucked up in the process. And it takes one hell of an effort to get it back to what it was. P.S. BTW, I liked the number 567
There's a thread about this in Turker Nation, allegedly he's been contacted by the mTurk team--allegedly
I actually did write to them two days ago and asked about what you are saying here on the boards. They replied the very same day and I have posted their reply in the other thread. What you are telling here is simply bs. Stop ranting, or at least base your accusations on facts not conjecture. By the way I'm long over $600 and still turking. Edit: and btw I noticed your replies are usually completely off topic. Are you just posting randomly here to spread bad blood? I think you should be banned from these forums. Mods? What do you think?
Ain't no mods here for the time being, I guess. ergo & lightdark (he, too, was selected as one, if memory serves me right) are long gone. Only Andy's around, but not that often, I suppose. I think jackisback is talking in terms of 'Current Balance' here, & not of all your earnings on mturk (i.e. your 'Current Balance' + your withdrawals till date). I felt like pointing it out just in case you thought otherwise.
Whatever, current balance or total balance ... there are turkers making $600 a month, every month, how come they are still there? What he's talking is just rubbish.
I did about 420 hits for this requester and 100% of them were approved. I was afraid of the rejections after I read user posts on Turkopticon. The image comparison was extremely easy and I don't understand why this requester rejected so many other users. I preemptively sent an email to support before I was rejected stating that this user was rejecting all work submitted. They replied by stating this user was under investigation and asked for more details about the hit, how many I did, and what time I did them. Before I sent this information to Amazon the following day my hits were approved. I don't really know what happened but it sucks for everyone that had their approval rating tanked. I certainly wont work for this requester even though he approved all of my submissions.
jackisback's posts have disappeared. Seems like he's been banned (his username doesn't appear on the Member List). It makes some of the other posts, which actually were a reply to him, a little awkward to someone who might be reading this thread for the first time. (For instance, Tiger saying, "What you are telling here is simply bs. Stop ranting, or at least base your accusations on facts not conjecture." in this post was actually a reply to one of jackisback's posts, & not to the original post or the post currently above his post. Or any other, for that matter.)
Thanks, justfight, for explaining the situation. I'm glad jack has been removed, he wasn't any help at all.
I didn't get a chance to go through all of his posts, but by whatever I read, I couldn't agree more to that.
I also had this problem. I have done about 70 jobs from Neel S. Joshi and all of them were rejected. I usually didn't do lot of works that are new to me. But that work seems to be simple and there is no reason for rejecting that works. Even a kid can do all of that works with 100% accuaracy.
