Hi friends, I am baskar, from india and i am new to mTurk. Currently i have earned $12.10 for 300 hits and another 300 are in pending. Now i coming to my question. I reviewed this forum, After that i got fear about getting paid from mTurk. I really need some money to study myself. So please tell the truth about mTurk. Is mTurk will block my account without any reason? Is really any one got withdrawal in indian money? Give some advise . THANK IN ADVANCE.
I've gotten $56.00 out of mturk. So it's legit. However, since I'm in the US, I can't answer any questions about recieiving withdrawls in Indian Currency. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=worker#how_recv_rupees This was in the FAQs, whatever that's worth.
I'm in India. I have gotten 4 checks from them so far and all arrived within 3 weeks. No problems at all. But before you can request an Indian rupee check you will have to submit your id and PAN card (scan the documents and upload). They will verify you and after that you are able to request checks. The process can take a month so you better do that right now if you haven't done so already. You also need to have an Indian bank account with the same name that will appear on the check (be careful to use exactly the same spelling for MTurk as on your bank account). Whether you will get blocked "without any reason" I can't say. It's possible but not the norm if you do good quality work and don't cheat.

Unfortunately, that's how it is. It's a 'take it or leave it' situation. Weighing its pros & cons, I must say that mturk has worked quite fine for me till now. Surely it comes with its share of flaws, but I guess you've to accept the bad with the good. There have been times when falsely/wrongly/unjustly rejected HITs enraged me to hell, but over the time I've learnt that it's some fraudulent Requesters that cause all the chaos. And I don't think that mturk can always see 'em coming. I know sometimes even after reporting such frauds, they still show up. Maybe mturk has its own limits. As you said, "go with the flow," [I don't think they gotta include it in their 'Terms & Conditions'. It's become quite common (common sense??) these days, like it or not.] & I guess you'll do fine. Be cautious on working with the new Requesters. Stick to the genuine ones. Play safe. BTW, it seems like you've had a very bitter experience with mturk. Wish I was good at consoling (I'm not saying that you're looking for it). And yeah, justfightisback too!!!
This is bs! I emailed MTurk about this. This is their reply: Greetings from Mechanical Turk I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding regarding Mechanical Turk. There is no limit on how much a Worker can earn. You are also welcome to withdraw funds from your account at any time, and there is no monthly limit on the amount either. Best regards, Sara L. hi baskar007, im from india too and got payments through check on my postal address. You can withdraw anytime you want only there's a fee of $4. So I always witdhraw when its reaching 60 or 70 dollars, once you withdraw it will come in a form of check so that you can just deposit it to your bank account and will be cleared within 3 business days. My checks arrived within 3 weeks too so its good. Make sure your name on MTURK is the same exactly on the id proof you will submit to MTURK, like for example if you are submitting PAN Card, should be the same name mentioned on your MTURK profile.
And on your bank account as well! That's a bit of a tricky one in India. For example on my PAN card is my husband's name as well.
You make me laugh. How come there are 1000s of turkers still turking and long beyond $600? With your attitude and tone I'm not surprised you were suspended. I for one am glad that people like you don't work on Mturk anymore.
It isn't safe to leave your email address around on a public forum. You cannot verify your account. Send the details to Mturk, they will verify after which you can withdraw your earnings.
