As I've stated before, I'm new to M-Turk and have been doing some research in my down time. I started turking mid-March. I've been to a few M-Turk forum sites, including this one, and I've noticed a trend. It seems I found Mechanical Turk a little late. It seems that a lot of requesters have lowered there wages, and in some cases, continue to lower them. So far, I've been doing the same 6 or 7 different groups of hits, with the occasional survey here and there. At least 3 of these, I've read, that the pay has dropped. One particular hit, as recent as August 2009, was paying .50. The most recent batch, that I worked on, paid only .01 per hit. I'm just wondering, is this the norm all across the board, or is this only contained to a small percentage of requesters? Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. Making what I have from M-Turk is better than making the nothing I would have made, had I not found it. I am just curious to know if I missed the boat on the real GOOD pay.
Requesters always drop the pay because the work gets done anyway. There are a very small minority that pay well, and they don't post regularly. Ususally you have to be lucky to be there at the time.
