Being new to mturk with one month and 2400 hits worked on with no rejections, I felt a bit proud of my stats... until doing hits for Conjecture Corporation. They rejected two out of 29 hits submitted, approving 27, and then blocked me from working on their hits in the future resulting in a "Account Warning" email from Amazon. Will this effect my ability to work for other erquesters? Even if this does get lifted by appeal in the near future, I will never work on their hits again.
Hi! A couple of months ago the person handling the MTurk tasks for Conjecture changed. It is a shame because Lindsay was a sweetheart and always very reasonable. I would contact them and ask them why they blocked you. If for no other reason to answer the question in your own mind of why? If it helps at all you can go to snippets.com and look up your questions and answers using the name you would give on their questions. See if your answers were posted and what kind of ratings they got. As far as affecting your doing other work it won't. Rest easy on that account. p.s. I quit working for them too when I once looked at my work on snippets and found questions under my name that I had not written. One of them was a question about having an affair etc. I could care less about that but I'm married and I had unfortunately used my normal online user name for facebook, pogo.com etc. I would have hated to have family or friends do a search under that name and see some of the questions. They would be sitting there thinking I was fooling around on my hubby with another woman. May sound silly to some but I really didn't like it at all.
I am new to this forum. However, not to mturk by far. I got blocked as you are saying. But, I wrote an email saying that I wasn't sure what I have done wrong but to ensure my quaily with others I would like to know what was wrong with the quality. The person was real nice and explain and unblock me. I suggest you email the requesters that you are having an issue with sometimes they will tell you and un block you. Just some friendly advice.
I have no problems with Conjecture HITs, except that they pay peanuts, and I've done lots, in several categories. Perhaps you were "cutting and pasting"? Never a good idea ...
Same here, I got blocked on Feb 2010 and did not give specific details why they blocked me. They just mentioned that they require high qulaity work results. Can't they just send as a warning first then block if the same mistake is repeated.
