Please forgive me if my question is obvious or silly: is it feasible to have some kind of script or function that autorefresh hit pages? Let's say, every 5 seconds? Would it be legal to use such thing? Thanks!
I think should be fine w/ mTurk. I don't, however, know of a current script that has this functionality. Perhaps you can find a tech savvy friend to create one for you, and you can share it with all of us.
Repeating the same action over and over on Mturk, will get you a warning with a 5 minute time out. I don't know the exact method of how this happens, but it does. Also you can get warnings for going though HITs "too quickly" with the skip button. And there's also warnings and time out for doing multiple quick HITs "too quickly". Amazon doesn't make it easy on people utilizing low paying HITs. The captcha every 25 HITs, and all the warnings and the time outs, really make it difficult.
You mean refreshing a particular page or HIT over and over on Mturk can get one a warning with a 5 minute time out? And what number does "over and over" represent approximately?
Exceeding page reloads on the "items" hits and mistyping a captcha three times will get you one, but I've never gotten a warning for refreshing a page. If you're using Mozilla there are several plugins available that will do this, no script necessary.
You mean reloading the page for "Are these items different" HITs (haven't done one ever, but they frequently make their presence felt)? If so, does this policy (5 minute time out) apply exclusively to such HITs only & no other HITs? Any idea how many reloads (approx.) can lead to a 5 minute time out for this specific ("Are these items different") HIT? And in case, if the same policy (5 minute time out) is applicable for exceeding page reloads for any HIT, what's the maximum limit of reloading a page before getting any such suspension?
I only had it happen once on the "Items" hits and that was when the plugin I was using went nuts. It was reloading the page every second. I've never had it happen again on those or any other hit.
