    Dear sir,
I want to know how much time it will take further to implement the Paypal payment option.About five months ago i wrote to the customer support and they told that the developers are looking for that but still now Paypal has not been introduced.i requested a check about 22 days ago(I requsted it on 7th of August)but i have not received it yet.Sir,it is a real worry for us who are working with such a fantastic site like Mturk but this issue of losing cheques is a major set back to work smoothly in a regular basis. Some of my friends who really love to work with Mturk, are quite afraid to start working only due to this fear of losing cheques.I will be highly obliged if the site administrators kindly consider our problem(which is really a big one) and implement the Paypal option as early as possible.with thanks and regards- yours' obediently -
    Shankari Mustafi .

    Hi Shankari,

I'm sorry, but none of us here work for MTurk. We're just users of the service like you are. Amazon may read our posts here occasionally, but the only way to communicate with them directly is to contact customer support from the MTurk site.

I doubt Amazon will ever add a Paypal option. Paypal is owned by eBay, and eBay is a major competitor with Amazon. Although anything is possible, and you should always let them know how you'd like MTurk improved, don't get your hopes up too high.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with checks, as I'm in the US and we can receive money directly to our bank accounts here. However, we do have some members from India who may be able to share their experiences. Particularly Sonica and Justfight if they're around?

I've heard that it can take a long time for checks to arrive. I hope yours arrives safely soon.

I think the length of time to get a check in other countries might be as long as two months.

As Amazon, has a payments service itself, you might be better off to hope for prepaid debit card or direct transfer being added for your location.

I agree with what ergo has said, there is no hope at all of Paypal being a payment option.

@Shankari, sometimes the check takes 6-8 weeks to reach India. So, there is no need to worry as it has been 4 weeks in your case. You will most probably get it within a week.

If there is complications to implement Paypal, cant they implement any other methods of electronic fund transferring like Egold,Alertpay or paying through Debit card - as lightdark said ? i know about an MLM site and they run their business quite nicely with an option of payment by issuing a debit card of their own.i think Mturk should consider these options because by all means electronic fund transferring is much less hazardous and more fast than cheque payment.with regards - hoping that any one from Mturk administration is seeing my request - Shankari .

Besides the direct transfer option opening up to more countries. The best option is a debit card for Amazon--They'd end up making a percentage off of purchases. The main issue, is they would need to use re-loadable cards(and people keep them), so they wouldn't have to keep sending out the plastic cards.

I see their current hold up as the currency conversion, somethings taking too long going from American dollars to other currencies checks.

Incredible suggestions, but I'd like it to remain the way it is right now.

I too hope that someone from Mturk authorities goes through this thread, but never implement any of the suggestions mentioned above.

    ALL THE BEST, Shankari

From what I've been told by a requester who's discussed the issue with Amazon, the unavailability of more supported countries has more to do with post-9/11 bureaucracy affecting outgoing international transactions. Amazon would have to jump through a lot of hoops to get other countries added besides India, unless they were to go through a proxy like Paypal, which I doubt they'll ever do. When they've already spent so much time building Amazon Payments, the likelihood of supporting any competitor's money system seems slim.

We may see some progress eventually though. International merchants want to use Payments to receive money as well, and particularly those in the UK have been pushing for support. So if you happen to see the UK added, that's going to be why.

That would be great, given that by "eventually", you mean at least a century. If that's the case, I'll very much appreciate Amazon for doing so at the right time.

    Hi!

Reading this thread I have a few questions.

I wonder why  Surely it's just an envelope with a piece of paper inside. Normally it takes a letter from the US and Europe about 10-12 days to reach India.

Why is India the exception I wonder?

Another thing I don't understand: why not at least add the possibility for international workers to buy from their national Amazon sites? That would save them the high postage fees for shipping from the US. I can't understand why Amazon is not at least adding this option.
