Since I have become very visible because of the new Turkers Talk podcast, I've been asked to introduce myself, so here's some background.

My name is Randy, I have been called randulo since about 1970, longer than many of you have been alive. It also shows that I'm not particularly young. I have done a lot of different jobs in my life and at the moment I own my business with my wife. For more personal stuff look at http://randulo.com

In March of 2007, I contacted the CEO of Talkshoe with an idea: We would do the very first 24 hour LIVE KivaThon to raise awareness of this brilliant site. http://Kiva.org is another of my addictions, and since 2007 I have funded 203 loans to motivated hard workers in 30+ countries. Many of you should be sensitive to the Kiva cause which is to allow people who want to better their lives to start or expand their businesses in the third world. Kiva is even about to start doing this in the USA, that's how bad things are these days.

I paid for an HIT for a transcription of a tech podcast a few days ago, trying to pay a fair rate to 6 people at about $0.50/minute of audio. The results were very good in spite of my newbie ignorance of how MT works. Aside from the potential of a workforce, I immediately felt a deeper significance to MT. My coming to this forum strengthens this conviction. Thanks to those of you like ergo who've helped me both with MT and with the whole idea I am trying to put together. What really clenched it was meeting shego live on Sunday, along with a woman called Sara who was wonderful and a couple of guys in India. As the people chatted between themselves I knew I had done something that had the potential to be great.

Help me realize the dream if you can, will you? I'm about to post more about the podcast in another thread, but the above and my sites will tell you who I am.

Randulo, welcome to the forum! I hope everyone here who's able will join in today's podcast at 1PM EDT. This could be the best thing to happen for turkers since MTurk launched!

    Here's the podcast thread: http://www.mturkforum.com/showthread.php?t=1077

Hi Randulo. Nice intro and like I said before, I am happy to know that you are associated with Kiva.:)

Yesterday's show was great with spamgirl and others who have been around at MTurk (Since years) answering questions during the show.

@sonica and @ergo, thanks for the welcome!

I can't emphasize enough to anyone reading the thread, this is not about me or money, it's about you and getting to gether with others like you and requesters like me. I want to see more awareness of the MTruk and the forums as well.

Please people, come listen and talk by -installing the software. You should be able to join Talkshoe with only 30 seconds of filling out a form. It's easy and feree and there is no down side to it. The advantage is, I can see who you are. Use your Mturkforum name or some name we can get to know.

I hope to meet many more of you as the weeks go on.

Next session is Wednesday at 12:30 PM EDT. See the thread for info.
