I think mTurk should employ an affiliates system for both workers & requesters. I am not sure how the commission would work seeing as there are little fees paid to Amazon (so not much money to dish out). This would allow mturk to spread across the internet and more people would join on. Right now workers do not have any incentive to tell their friends about mturk because the more workers on the site - the more competition for the hits. Many people do not even know mTurk exists. Sure, it will bring more workers - however it is likely that more work will also be provided. Thoughts?
I have a great idea. Make the requesters pay fair wages, which in turn will help amazon and the freelancers make more money. Then they could afford an affiliate program. Companies are saving untold thousands and thousands of dollars using mturk. They can afford to pay more.
I agree with Shego. I don't even bother with the penny hits; they remind me of sweatshops and nobody is worth that insult. I have noticed lately, though, that the number of hits has dropped dramatically, and I'm not able to find too many tasks that I'm willing to perform for the tiny "reward" they are offering.
