Yep the guy that originally started it was named Hatch or something like that.. not really sure. I would go check the archives of the old TN but she banned me from that one too after I sent her a pm through it.

btw: she may have been the admin there because he was no longer around. But... she did not have the power to change anything on the board... coding and such from what was said prior to the new TN. That is why the whole thing changed IMO.

I bet she pushed him out like a cuckoo getting rid of its nest-mates.
Ah well... Now that I've found this place, I need never think of her again. Which is quite the relief.

    Heh.
I was once a dog washer, which involved "expressing" their anal glands, which was painful to them.

(A really unethical aspect of the dog grooming business is that a lot of grooming companies overtly try to get dogs "addicted" to anal gland expression weekly. If a human forces it out weekly, it stops happening naturally when they poop. So then they HAVE to have their anal glands "expressed".)

But yeah. Crowdflower is on par with that.

    Never heard of that.

I have my Shih Tzu groomed once a month, because the hair on his face starts poking into his eyes if I don't, and I'm sure she also expresses that stinky butt gland while she's at it. Is that often enough to stop it from happening naturally?

    Maybe.
Just ask to talk to the washer. Dog washers universally HATE expressing anal glands for multiple reasons. (I mostly hated hurting the dog after I gained their trust with the water). Ugh.

Don't let grooming companies clip their nails, either. They consider it normal to clip so short it makes the dog yelp in pain and they just put a blood coagulator on the nail to stop the bleeding. They think that's totally fine and ok.

Back on topic - lookign at some of the Whois records (I didn't get toa site yet that shows historic)
But here is a few things that sticks out to me.

    1. The DNS for the site is different than all the other Amazon sites I checked.
    2. Why on an "Amazon Owned" site is there ads for OTHER THAN Amazon?? "Commission Junction" is used for the New Egg add.
    3. Also with Amazon trying to do its own Auctions and Half.com - Why have ad for Ebay?

You can theoretically put anything in the WHO is you want.

I think I'll just ask her to stop expressing his anal gland until/unless it shows some sign of being impacted. Because God knows the little poop monster poops enough as it is.

But, but, but... (insert stifled scream.) he doesn't have anal gland issues. I can see adding fiber to your dog's food if your dog has that problem, in order to treat it, but not to prevent him from developing a problem he shows no sign of having. So for me, it makes more sense to simply ask the groomer to stop manually expressing it because somebody said THAT can cause him to have issues with it. And stop there.

And I cannot believe pumping them full of fiber doesn't loosen stools and make them more copious, because that's sure as hell what it does to humans. Not that I want to prolong the poop discussion. ;) Because I don't, particularly.

I just have to say, that's really one of the funniest things I've ever read.
I'm sure it's not so funny to you, and I'm sorry for laughing.
    But it's funny as hell.

I find it a hair too horrifying to be funny.

That site used to be useful; helping turkers help themselves was its main reason for existence. And now it's so exclusionary that it's banning people just for looking the site over? While it's encouraging requesters like Lighting Buff to reverse unfair rejections only if they're contacted by TN members on the TN site?

They're rapidly transforming themselves into an active impediment to every turker not belonging to their own core clique.

Hey Sharique--what was the reason they cited?
Or didn't they bother with such niceties?

OMG ohso... "helping turkers help themselves" I remember that TN. I guess that all stopped when the BB finally got complete control. I wonder if that motto is even there anymore. If it is then it definitely no longer runs true. More like "helping other turkers get screwed while we hoard all the work for the Kool Kids Klan". LOL Oh all is well though as I know have my own forum. I just miss some of the nicer peeps there.

btw... if anyone knows why I was banned please do tell.. the curiosity is killing me. LOL

I asked in a message and I got this back from support:

"Please note that sites that run on Amazon Web Services will have Amazon-owned IP addresses for the who is record"

Yep. Like it says on the whois page:

Did you flat-out ask them and they replied all cryptic-like?

So they're implying the website isn't owned by Amazon, just the IP address, because Spammy is using an Amazon-owned web hosting service rather than her own server? But if that's the case, why wouldn't they just say it outright instead of merely implying it?

I didn't even know Amazon had a web-hosting service for sites they did not own. But I just looked it up, and they do. Amazon Web Services is a "cloud" service allowing you to run all kinds of crap.

So maybe they DON'T own TN.

I'm so confused now... Because the initial post says they also own the domain name, originally registered through godaddy.com, like Amazon either bought the domain name through Go Daddy, or bought it from whoever originally registered it through Go Daddy. If they're just the web hosting service, why do they own the domain name?
