I've been using a crappy one that burns up my ears after long usage. I am going to buy a new pair of headphones for a budget of $30. Can anyone suggest the headphones which is best suited for lengthy audio transcriptions? Also share the model of the ones that you are using now.

Burns up your ears? Are you using the kind that completely cover your ears? If so, I'd suggest some ear buds.. preferably the kind with the soft little rubber covers on them.

I don't do transcriptions but I use some Sony ones for listening to music. Let me see if I can find a link.

I use a pair of Sony headphones that I got at Walmart for $20 and they are really good. The only thing I do is transcription, and I can wear them all day without a problem. Those earbuds hurt my ears REALLY bad, especially after wearing them all day.

The one's that don't have the little rubber things hurt my ears too. I used to use the regular iPod earbuds but they started hurting my ears.

    This is what I have.

They work for me but everybody's ears are different size/shape, so they might not be the best for you.

I use these as my general all purpose headphones. They're cheap, comfortable, and provide rather good sound quality. I also have the ear bud style which are great at blocking out outside noise, and provide good sound but get pretty uncomfortable rather quickly.

I am rite nw using an on-the-ear (Supra-aural), closed Back type. But, it heats up my ears after about 1 hour of usage.

The only difference IIRC is the colors. Search on Amazon for "Skull Candy" - There should be a ton of them.

Edit: I take that back, there's a lot of different models.

Altec Lansing made the best headphones that I've ever owned. They were full ear cover headphones that I could wear for hours and not even know they were there. They cost me under $30 on sale, they were $100+ full retail. Sadly, I demolished 'em the first week I had them over a bad Lineage II raid. I'm such a dumbass at times. lol
