Now i dont know why they are using approval through emails, and they are not sending any confirmation emails. my friend created an account a week before and didn't got the confirmation mail yet...send mail and ask mturk why this is happening..hope u could work soon..
Welcome Priya! I didn't make much money on mturk at first, but by posting on all the turker sites, I have learned a lot. The best tool for me has been Turkopticon. I don't mturk without it. Use it and ask questions when you have them. That will help you make more money. Good luck and happy turking.
Hello, Thanks for your interest in joining the Amazon Mechanical Turk workforce. I know you’re eager to get started working HITs and earning money. Unfortunately, I don’t have an estimate on how long the approval process will take. We'll notify you once your account has been fully activated and you’re able to work HITs. In the meantime, you can browse the HITs available to see what you may have an interest in working. Thanks for your continued patience while your account is being reviewed MSG from mturk
Uh, aren't you the one trying to scam Amazon by opening an account in your brother's name because your account was banned? Pfft. If it IS closing, it's because of people like YOU.

I'd think that if MTurk was going to close up shop, they'd probably also stop accepting new jobs except those that that they were contractually obligated to allow (Crowdflower might have an arrangement like this) and we'd gradually see a draining of the pool of HITs. More likely is that because MTurk is not very profitable (as I have speculated), they don't devote very many resources to the project. This would mean that they have one person whose task is to verify new MTurk workers and that person is behind in handling the approvals. This may not even be a full-time job; I'd think it likely that verifying new workers is just one of several areas of responsibility for that person. Another possibility is that MTurk has all the workers they need right now to handle the volume of work they have. If they're glutted with workers but starving for requesters, which is where they make their money, verifying new workers would be very low on their list of priorities. Lastly, it's possible that there's been a high inflow of workers who do poor-quality work, either because they're not capable, or they're outright scammers. Once they have one account terminated for excessive rejections, they just create another using someone else's name. To deal with this, Amazon has had to revamp and redesign the new worker review process to be more robust. This new process may be either more involved or still developing and evolving, causing delays. Please note that this is all speculation and I do not have any special knowledge of MTurk operations.
