My own story - I was googling "Earn Amazon Gift Certificates" when I came to the website. I was curious, signed up and wowed to make a buck, then browsed and saw that this is a neat site to get some spare change.
Obe day I was searching for a way to make money online- my wife needed a way to bring in some extra income and I was helping with the search. I found a random tech blog with a somewhat scathing view of mturk. After reading it, I still decided to check out mturk...and the rest is history.
I read an article somewhere (I think it's Wired.com if I remember correctly) about people getting Turkers to vote up their websites on Digg so I became curious and went over to take a look.
I read a review at a site reviewstream.com, where the reviewer had posted details about earning online. I decided to give it a try and joined mturk.
I was doing research for a report on online work-at-home jobs and the high number of scams, pyramid schemes and spam infested sites. In the midst of researching scams I came across mention of mTurk.
That is interesting beak! I probably wouldn't have joined mTurk if it wasn't supported by Amazon. Having a parent company like that invites success to nearly any product/service it creates.
i was off work for a month and needed something to keep me saine there for i joined mturk and now i can buy all the things i want on amazon.com and my husband can't complain
I can't remember exactly. My guess would be from Googling. I'm 17 right now and I first stumbled into the "making money online" scheme when I was 14. I was doing a few paid to click and paid to read e-mail sites but I was looking to expand. I came across mTurk and tried it out but for some reason I stopped. Now, I'm back!
I'm always looking for a viable way to make extra cash. Who isn't? Anyway, I read an article on msn.com that mentioned, among other things, mechanical turk so I signed up. I'm really grateful for it. The money I have made has saved my rear a few times when I was in a financial crunch.
I ran across it via my expeditor job with chacha, I believe. I like turking much more than that now, though!
How are they to work for? I tried to apply last year, but their automated test didn't like my browser and I never got through the processing.
I was informed of the Amazing site, sorry, Amazon's site Mturk by my bro. He too is an Mturker but doesn't work as much as he used to since he has got himself a job at one of the topmost IT company of India, namely Infosys. However, I don't know how he stumbled upon Mturk. May ask him though sooner or later.
I belong to another wah board, where there are a lot of people who work for the same call center but at home (its our water cooler] so one of my coworkers told me about it . I went and have done turk ever since ..
I came stumbled accross mturk from one of those "deal" websites. They did an article on a couple legit websites to make some pocket change.
