That stinks. I have had that happen and the reasoning makes no sense. When I respond to the requester who has made it clear that you can contest they don't respond. I don't care about getting paid,but I care about my rejection rate.
Yes, my pet peeve is requesters that don't respond. I try to find their actual emails through their consent forms and email them rather than through Mturk. Usually gets better results.
I had 99 rejections way back when from the same requester. It was such an easy hit,Flora,my cat could have done it. I never understood what was wrong. It was like adding one plus one. Anyway,I begged them to reverse the rejections even if they didn't pay me. I asked them to tell me what it was that was wrong. It really set me back because I was at a great rate...It's taken me a long time to recover from that .

That sucks. I don't get the logic of those hits. So I assume you have to pick the right one. So why do a hit at all if you know which one is the right one? I guess they pay you a lot for getting it right and nothing for getting it wrong. Be better if they were each 5 or 10 cents. I don't think some of these requesters bother to understand what rejections mean to Turkers.

Gotta love it when they state, "there's no right or wrong answers..." and then get rejected. Requesters only care about their end. Most cases If they can't use the data, they don't want to pay for it including those cases where the errors are on their end.
