Today I got reminded by how we should always argue our case (start kindly, move on from there). I did a hit and got a $3 and change bonus. Nope, I read the instructions and played kindly and knew that wasn't a fair calculation. With very understanding words, I sent a message and explained the instructions I read well. Within minutes I got an email back and two more dollars and the requester admitted the error and thanked me for pointing out the error. In said hit, I don't know what everyone in the "group" did, and I hope they got fairly compensated, but it's important to stand up for your time and work. It might seem silly to "complain" about 2 bucks, but it wasn't a complaint -- I was paid unfairly and I earned those 2 bucks.
Glad to hear that it worked out. Sometimes it pays to send a message. They can only learn from us otherwise they will never know.
The hit was actually interesting and paid immediately, bonus too, so that definitely made me feel a bit more confident. But otherwise I could see myself doubting, or someone kind of new not arguing their case. FWIW, I've emailed this requester again about how they could improve their hits moving forward (I whined about it being underpaid in the comments before I hit submit) and they are responsive. Eventually, I'll shift them here, but not to me. I have zero knowledge on how a requester sets up a hit, but I've done so many and I know how a similar hits works better -- for them and us. Tiny bits of advice matter moving forward. It's a study and .edu person, and my (our) advice benefits everyone.
