Hi All-- I am new to MTurk requesting, and I was wondering if I could get some advice. In the last day, I have been getting responses to my HIT very slowly (less than one per hour). In the first couple of hours, responses were much higher (10-20 per hour). What do you think the cause may be. The HIT pays $1.25 for a 10-15 minute survey. Is the rate too low? Is the fact that I required "Masters" the problem? Or have I scared off Turkers with other requirements (respondents must have used Lyft or Uber, and must live in a city where Lyft Line or Uber Pool are available). Any help is greatly appreciated! -Rideshare Researcher
Way to low. Masters generally do work for 20-30 dollars an hour. So for a 10-15 min survey it should pay 5 dollars or more. That will get you a higher response.
Masters are a fraction of the worker pool and only a fraction of that fraction is likely to both live where either Lyft or Uber is available and have used the service. If you need more workers, cast a wider net and offer a little more money. ETA: Speaking as a 'master' who avoids Uber like the driver might be luring me into his car to rape and murder me. Because he might be.
I am a master worker and I have used Uber when I go out to Tampa so I could do the survey but I probably wouldn't do it for less than 10 dollars as there is a ton of work up atm
I have been turking since 2012 and have 99.98% (got 5 rejections) approval rate, no Masters. Your HIT would exclude people like me. If you don't want newbies to do your HITs then you can put quals like 5,000 HITs approved and 99% approval rate. How are Masters doled out and what are the requirements? I have seen people get it after 3 months of turking and less than 10,000 HITs approved.
I was gonna say about the same thing. If you need the 'must live in a city where Uber or Lyft is available, and have used one' qual, make it $2 and open it up to non-masters.
Third time in the past two weeks it is snowing. It's Spring already. Enough. Not helping that it was 75 degrees this past weekend.

Looks like someone on TO got a response and the requester screwed something up and will manually review. Testing is for wimps. Apparently.
