to be fair though, those are as big a part of mturk as any other kind of job, and with the right quals, the highest paying. i still haven't been emailed about the speechink qual or sat down to finally do the top tier cs qual article, and i still make a lot from the non-qual writing and transcription jobs available. sure, they don't pay nearly as much, but they also demand far less and doing short claritrans hits and ecig/diet pill/whatever matchett wants rewrites are not only easier and less time consuming, but can ease a lot of people into feeling confident about going after the quals and some of these bigger, better-paying jobs. and masters opens up a whole other world, but i usually don't count it as we don't have much power over whether we get it or not, aside from keeping up consistent quality and praying to our local flying spaghetti deity. but cutting transcriptions and writing out of the overall potential to earn income on mturk would be like arbitrarily saying not to count university studies, or to leave batches out...
It's all good man. I was just stating what I've seen thus far from being on here for longer than most. No one means any offense, we're just discussing numbers.
Maybe, but the overwhelming majority of turkers hate writing/transcription and will never do them. You should check out the writing companies I posted, they pay better than Mturk and will give you a wider selection for when things are slow. You can balance the three, and you might find all you do is write and make significantly more than you do now.
Answer a short survey. Optionally, solve captchas for opportunities to win big bonuses!! CMU Research University .50 https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=26NJ8MZ9O9Z6LGXXJFQHORRNGR7099 this is up.. once again... lol
You perceive it as negative because I stated an hourly wage lower than you want to hear. It's negative in your eyes, but for someone in India it would be positive lol.
i don't think we're arguing so much as ummm throwing opposing opinions against the wall. it's good to see what other people think as long as we can be civil about it. and engaging in this kind of discussion more or less isn't likely to make hits appear either way...
this damn thing gave me a headache when I did it...I wanted that bonus but i had to give up after trying 10 options on one captcha
im out everyone, dinner party. free drinks all night for this underage turker btw i got confirmation from mturk that you can turk outside the country if your account is registered in the states. you automatically have qual no matter where you go, but you'll need to ask the requester if it's okay to do their hits while traveling
ah shit i just let that $1 movie enquirer hit expire... that's the second or third hit that's expired on me today because i was in here chatting... burn down the forum!!
Answer an survey about your experiences Requester: Sarah Cowan Reward: $0.25 per HIT HITs Available: 1 Duration: 60 minutes Qualifications Required: Location is US https://www.mturk.com/mturk/accept?...n4f99VI97b6dLBXWcnw=&/accept.x=64&/accept.y=9 Good TO. One min
I just realized I have a rejection from Angelica S. Gutierrez saying I attempted to do the survey once before. It doesn't show up on my list of requesters though.
Exactly. Sometimes it can be hard to distinguish the difference between arguing and discussing. You're a smart guy, you should really look into being a Google Rater as well. They usually limit you to 20 hours a week, but the pay is up to $15/hr and you can turk when you're not rating.
It's HOW you're saying it. You think this comes off as positive? I can think of waay better ways to tell people that maybe shooting for $10/hr is a bit much (whether it is or isnt)
