I did at around 400 hits and 20 rejected. It seems that they reject 1 hit for every 20 hits.It drastically changed my percentage. I recommand not to do the hits for Amazon Requester Inc.

 

I haven't tried these hits. I looked at them but decided it was going to take more time than it was worth. So I've passed them up. But this forum is great for sharing stories and successes!

 

I have tried these and I don't think I have had any rejections. I actually like these hits.

 

I have done some of their hits but they have never been approved or rejected. Does it normally take a really long time to get a response on theirs? Doesn't make a huge difference to the bottom line, but it would be nice to decrease my pending list.

 

this is evil. There is no good reason to get denied just by the statistics they are following.

 

I switched to doing these HITs slowly and keeping careful track of my rejections, then complaining about each and every one if I was certain they rejected me unfairly. Eventually they must have gotten tired of my complaints, because now they auto-approve everything I submit.

That's exactly why the rejection rate is so high. Amazon has three people do each HIT, and if two agree and one has a different answer, the odd one out is automatically rejected. Enough people just pick one answer and stick with it that it ends up hurting the ones who answer honestly.

Please don't do stuff like that. Besides, for all you know there may be two people who decided to click "are the same" every time, and you'll get rejected by choosing a different answer. Cheating doesn't help anyone.

I'd recommend not doing these HITs at all unless you already have many thousands of HITs under your belt and the rejections won't murder your overall rate.

Of course, this brings up a related issue: Amazon's method of accepting or rejecting answers rewards cheaters and punishes the honest, without any easy way for the honest to appeal. Much as I love Turking, I respect Amazon the least among all the requesters who use the service. They need to find a better way to do things.

 

Thanks for sharing your tip. I was thinking about doing their hits, but after going through this thread, I dont' think I will risk the rejection. I am doing smaller hits to improve my stats, and dont want additional rejections. Your feedback about complaining is great, will implement it if I face similar problem with some requestor.

 

I veto doing these HITs. I specifically completed ONE hit on a single day to track it. The ONE hit I completed I know was different due to different part numbers. Guess what.....it was rejected. I won't do anymore of these HITs.

 

I won't do these anymore because they reject 10% of my work. Excuse me, but how do they justify rejecting a hit when one item is a stuffed animal and the other is an ipod and I checked the box that the items were different? Somethin' ain't stirrin' the Kool-aid, with those hits.

 

Those HITs with the stuffed animal and iPod are supposed to be traps to weed out simplistic bots, or people not paying attention, that check "These items are the same" on everything. If you get it wrong, you're supposed to be automatically banned from doing any more Amazon HITs for anywhere from a few hours to a week.

If you checked it correctly and still got rejected, then these HITs are getting even worse than they used to be.

Oddly enough, I don't believe they have any traps to catch those who check "These items are different" on everything, so unfortunately a lot of cheaters get away with that.

 

I specifically did one hit (after being rejected 120 times out of 1000) and waited to see if it would clear. I not only examined the picture, but also the descriptions. It was rejected! That's when I realized that something was amiss. It took me quite a while to get my approval rate over 98% after that 120 rejections.

 

I especially feel bad for the brand new workers who are unfortunate enough to pick this as their first work. Even if they do the HIT very carefully, they'll probably end up with enough rejections to plunge their approval rating under 90%, which will really mess up their ability to take other HITs.

 

I was fairly new to Turk when it happened. It freaked me out and made me wonder if I was cut out for being a "turker worker" but eventually I caught on. I quickly learned to weed out the shady requestors and do the hits that had reasonable and quick payments. Everybody has their own niche.

 

3,000 plus plumbing supply Hits today. This is possibly the worse dump I've ever seen.
