Hi Mturkers, Here I am starting the Oscar Smith HIT Help Thread. For the old Thread Click here OK Shoot your questions.
Regarding some US numbers Sometimes we get US no.s like +1.202.254.2475 We know that's U.S. no. but how can we add that +1? and sometimes some no.s have +1 in it and 1 or 2 doesn't . .what should we do there?

There is a field to input the name and title. If the name on the card is Dean Smith, MD do I put , MD in the name field or under the title?
I wouldn't think Citibank/Citi would go in title since that would go in the company box and it isn't written that way on the card. I thought it had to be identical to what was on the card.
Thanks Riaz for this great help. I come across some doubts while working on Oscar hits. 1. If there are more than multiple email address should I enter all email address in the form? 2. If there is Skype address found in the card should I enter or leave because the field doesn't exist in the form. 3. If there are multiple web address should I enter all address in the field? 4. If a card have multiple locations of phone numbers for example an international phone number and U.S. Phone number what should I do? Thanks once again in advance.
1. If there are more than multiple email address should I enter all email address in the form? Enter the email address for the person who's name is on the business card if it is obvious. If there is more than one, enter the first one. 2. If there is Skype address found in the card should I enter or leave because the field doesn't exist in the form. Ignore everything that is not on the form. 3. If there are multiple web address should I enter all address in the field? Enter the one that most closely represents the business the person is affiliated with, meaning for the business name you entered. If it isn't obvious, look it up and check it. 4. If a card have multiple locations of phone numbers for example an international phone number and U.S. Phone number what should I do? Dunno.
I thought for international address's you were supposed to put "International" somewhere on the address section. I really thought I saw a post about that somewhere on the forum, but maybe I am mistaken? Also on the card under the name, there is that last line that says something like "Regional Markets Legal".. it's blurry so it's hard to see. But would that also go on the card for his title? I also have another example. Lewis Stubbs, LEED GA Facilities Manager Consolidated Rental Car Account Global Corporate Services Would all 3 of those go into the "title" section?
Here is the answers for your 3rd and 4th qns. 3. If there are multiple web address should I enter all address in the field? Add only the address that is from US, if possible. If both the address are from non-US then you can take the first address from left to right or top to bottom. 4. If a card have multiple locations of phone numbers for example an international phone number and U.S. Phone number what should I do? Just enter that justifies to the location address. That is if you see that the address is with UAE address, add the UAE phone number rather than US Address. Also you may see some cards without address and two phone address from different countries. Then you can enter the US number if it is there, otherwise you can take the first one from the left to right or top to bottom
even if it is blurry you can clearly what is written, right, so better you can add it in the form. For the case of title example, I would enter the whole thing by separating with coma for each line.
I'm getting the hang of doing Oscars now, but my score flip flops between 91 and 86, so I'm apparently doing something right/wrong each time. My biggest problem is international business cards. I believe I've got the USA format down pat with a few exceptions. 1. IF there is a logo with a business name or quote near it to crop together that is trademarked or registered, I crop the whole logo/name/image as one. I don't know if it's right or wrong, but my score went up the day I started doing that. 2. Addresses are tricky. How would I know if 'PO Box' is a separate address or part of the mailroom sorting for a business location? Hugh corporations have mailrooms just like the post offices of small towns. So far, I've been adding it in whichever order it is listed on the business card as long as it is not tied to a different city. If it's tied to a different city, I choose whichever comes first on the card from left > right or top > down order. 3. I tried the 'International' entry and my score tanked really bad. I read it from a previous thread suggestion. I believe that is a no-no reflected in my score. I won't be repeating that mistake. 4. Leaving off the country name just goes against my grain, but I'm trying to comply since there is not a data entry field for this. I was putting it in a line all by itself just above the city field. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. 5. WHEN IN DOUBT, GOOGLE IT! I've saved many HITs by searching international postal patterns, company names, addresses, phone numbers, cities, zip codes, and translations. Chances are, if it's a valid logo, it will be on their front page of a website. 6. I would like to know about the experiences that people have when their scores are 96. Are they getting the cream of the crop or do they have an Oscar Handbook that gets them out of sticky HITs?
