It looks like these measly 2.00 per hour are actually very popular. There isn't very much around anymore. Again. Even Shopping Receipts US, which those receipts are much more time consuming, are also going away. They used to pile up with apparently nobody doing them, but now they available amount of tasks has decreased.
https://www.reddit.com/r/mturk/comments/4ni2ya/the_problem_with_scoutit/ BTW it wasn't just me that had the problem earlier this year. I am back to report yet again that ScoutIt, despite being so "unpopular" has disappeared yet again. Do they have scheduled downtime often, or do people just not buy so many things, or is it that everybody actually loves receipts that they want to hog them for themselves and tell everybody "I wouldn't recommend him. ... Stay away from him ... pay is too low ... do somebody else's instead ... [because they are MINE!!] " (when searching for discussions about Scout It or Jon Brelig, this is what I read when somebody asks anything about him. They don't answer the person's question and instead they try to run them off.) Anybody know the answer? I guess not.
I am going to come back every time ScoutIt disappears to see if this is a regularly occurring pattern.
Submission Error: This discussion has long since been abandoned by "ScoutIt" or "InfoScout", but I am going to post this anyways. There is no way of knowing how to handle the swarms of "foreign" receipts. If there are any U.S. or U.K. receipts there is a form to enter the information. Any other nation will not be able to use the information. It will say "Invalid Telephone Number" and it will not let me submit the receipt. I had been rejected periodically with the excuse "It Is English.". I do not care if the language itself happens to be English. Every nation knows English and so many receipts are going to be in English. But there is no way to enter the telephone and address of the business. Also, if the currency is in € or ¥ or PLN or PHP (or just P) whether or not it is in English language this is from a nation that is not U.S. or U.K. or even Canada. (There is no Correct way to enter the information from a Canada receipt. Submitting a Canada receipt using the U.S. form will cut off part of Canada's postal code.) Sometimes the € receipts written in English language are actually U.K. receipts that have a currency conversion. I do not list these as "Cannot Transcribe Foreign Characters.". But if you are going to get many different receipts, there needs to be an expansion that includes more than just the ability to enter U.S. and U.K. receipts. Unless that happens, there is no way to list the information on the foreign receipts.
