The Inveni hits that are currently up...require a diff qual. From what I can see... there's only 12 of us that have the qual. I'm sure if you emailed him and you've done a decent chunk of hits with him in the past that he'd give you the qual. I could use some help, lol. THe numbers don't seem to be going down!
I never do any HITs that ask to install anything for obvious reasons, but I'm wondering if its worth the effort to set up a VM just for those if they seem like a good value. My initial thought was that they also probably aren't a good value on average either since the % of shadiness will be much higher, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Hi btw.
the only time i have ever installed anything it was a survey for a VERY trusted university and it was just part of like a java to run the survey program, otherwise for me thats a big no no. WELCOME!

I was hoping to pass the 500 approved mark today and these got me to 576! Thanks so much for posting it!
Yeah but most of the negative reviews are cause her auto approve is 30 days, and on a slow day like this I don't mind waiting as long as I reach my daily goal :]
Welcome to the forum! A bunch of universities use an Inquisit plug-in for studies. That's the only program I've ever installed from mturk. I agree with you that most other requesters who ask you to install something are probably shady and won't offer a lot of compensation.
Some of these are not as straightforward as it seems. How do you qualify the user's input, if their response is out of context and we can't tell what they're trying to communicate? For instance, a task that looks like this I have no idea what the user is trying to say and can only guess that they might be providing a bus route, so I return tasks like this. I spend more time filtering out the tasks and returning the nonsense ones than I actually spend completing tasks. If there were a 'none of the above' option, it would be a lot more straightforward and I wouldn't have to worry about an unfair rejection.
Info from Inveni Thanks for all the work today. I just wanted to get some info to you about our HITs. We currently have two hits in action. The first is the one most of you have gotten the qualification for. It requires the SimMatch qualification and asks you to type in similar movie suggestions to a given movie. I apologize that I haven't approved all of you yet, but every time I approve one person, two more request it. We strive for quality and we like to review each worker as they start to make sure they understand what it is we are looking for. Please be patient while we catch up. Don't worry, they'll be a steady stream of these hits. The second hit is a new type of hit that asks you to pick which one of two movies is most similar to a given movie. This one requires the SimRank qual and is only available to about a dozen workers at the moment. We'd really like to work out the kinks, so I've chosen a small group of core workers to do this with. Very soon we'll set it up so that SimMatch is a gateway to SimRank. Do good work on a decent number of SimMatch hits and we'll approve you for SimRank. Don't be offended if your request goes unanswered. We really do need time to look at the answers in order to figure out what the right balance is going to be. Thanks again for the work and I'm glad to receive all the interest!
