What other types of work do you do in addition to mTurk to make money?

What is it that you do in addition to mTurk to make money? Online or offline?

I haven't done much myself, but I am always looking for legitimate ideas or places to make more. :) So far online mTurk is the most legitimate place I have found to date.

    Share what works for you?

  2. I, too, would like more legit places to make money online. Mturk is nice that way.

I write freelance, but, it's such a pain to dig up reputable customers (ie, ones that will actually pay!). I lost both of my steady writing gigs this year due to the economy, so I really need to market myself more... I just don't wanna.

I would do the freelance thing to, but like you said its tough finding the work. Because lets face it, who doesn't want to work from home. And now with the economy, there will be more people looking, which makes it even harder.

I do some freelance computer programming, transcription, and online English tutoring, with a little bit of mTurk work thrown in to help make ends meet. The tutoring is growing enough and pays so well that I expect to drop the computer programming soon. Transcription I'll continue doing for at least my favorite clients since I really enjoy working with them.

I actually have a typical 9-5, and just do mturk in my off hours instead of (actually, in addition to) wasting time on the internet. I used to do freelance IT work (a fancy way of saying I removed viruses and plugged in computers--nice work if you can get it!).

    write a lot.

I write reviews and answer surveys. Though it does not pay much, but it is fun to do as you do not have to look for any material and can write about your experiences with various products and services. I have been approached by some requestors for direct work, am thinking about it.

I've applied to kbg (google it, it's quite interesting) and I am waiting on a few opening in other online text messaging sites. I took the kbg test for special agents, and it was quite hard! It was pretty fun though! I recommend!

mTurk has been the most straight foward way to make money online. The closest thing I have done before was using myoints. You just get points but after time I was able to get my new DVD player for free at Amazon. It would be nice to have more sites like mTurk.

I sometimes do surveys, but I'm starting to find out that the mturk hits are starting to be more worth my time lol

I do medical transcription and a couple rewards programs/surveys along with mturk. I'm really just doing this for fun, not money right now. I find I can't really make enough per hour wise to do it for money, so I just do it when I'd ordinarily be wasting time online. I'd love to find something editing as I can't stand grammatical, spelling errors in blogs, etc., but so far no luck.

I do surveys, mostly for gift certificates. I also do ad driven survey/email programs too for straight cash.

I have a "real" job that supports my family, but also work on mechanical turk and take surveys to provide a little extra income. My wife and I have been using the extra money to get diapers on Amazon.com for our baby!

Try at odesk, you might probably get something worthwhile. But before getting any real work, you have to go by their rules, take a test etc. Try it, all the best.

  14. i kinda hoard mycokerewards points. and formerly the pepsi points. (mainly to check out tv downloads from amazon video on demand without "paying")

cant get kbg to come up. do i need to search the forums?

I use SwagBucks whenever I neeed to search something on Google (you get paid for seaching, basically - then use your 'bucks' to get gift cards, electronics, etc.).

Kinda cool, but you wont get rich quick ... but we are use to that, right? :p
