Still weary about giving MTurk/Amazon Payments my SSN #

I started working on MTurk back in October. I knew about how they would ask for my SSN # before I joined, but I didn't know they wouldn't start grilling me for it after I just made $4 I was thinking along the lines they would ask for it when I neared around $50+. They said I couldn't do anymore HITs until I give it to them. I did some research and they said it was safe behind multiple firewalls, but I just can't help and think of the negatives of someone hacking into Amazon Payments and securing millions of SSNs.

So should I just go ahead and bite the bullet and give them my SSN # to them?

One last question. If someone does happen to hack into my account one day and steal my SSN # what do I do?

You'll be fine. If you don't give it to them, don't expect to make any money. If you don't wanna make any money, then don't give it to them.

If someone steals your SSN, you report any suspicious activity. I have had my SSN stolen and identity theft on my name/info. I have no way of knowing how someone got it. (not here) This was 4 years ago. Just have to watch your info all the time and clean it up when the time comes.

You should be safe, think about the millions of credit cards they have on file on their servers, and the years that Amazon has been around. They know that security is there life line and put that up at the top of their priority list.

Oh do NOT worry about that! It's totally safe. They do it for tax reasons, like paypal does. I'm an Amazon seller and have had an Amazon payment account for some time. Never had an issue. I love Amazon's services.

If your not comfortable don't do it. The worry is not worth it.
