I'm so glad to have found this place! I've been a member at Turker Nation since 2009 or 2010 but...uhh...it ain't what it used to be. I am/was jupiter over there. Hello to all my old peeps from back in the good old days!

Anyway, I look forward to talking to old friends and making new ones! And being able to post without violating some obscure rule that was never clearly stated!

How did you last so long? I tried it for one month and couldn't take any more. Nearly half my posts violated some rule and were deleted or moved to some thread which I didn't have access to. Meanwhile the moderator was posting these nonsense product endorsements which added nothing. Weirdest forum I have ever experienced.

It can get a bit lively here and it's a nice place. Andy's fun as an admin.

 

For a while it was really cool over there. Like here, from what I can tell of this place so far. When they went all draconian after the move I started getting infractions left and right and quit posting for the most part (as did most people, it appears. lol. Now I see there's been a mass migration over here, which...well...what did they expect?)

 

I just discovered this forum tonight when I was google-searching in an attempt to find some turking buddies who were banned at TN. I'm only just now getting into reading the threads here, but so far I'm definitely liking what I see. I have posted noticeably less in the new TN than the old one (less than 1 every two days at the new compared to almost 2 a day at the old). I never really thought about that until Athena mentioned about how different it was so I just looked it up. Interesting. Anyway, I'm not quite ready to share my name from TN because it sounds like maybe some folks have had issues with that as well, but I may just give up on TN because between the 'latest posts' often being full of amazon deals and complaints about how to use the forum, the sudden banishment of friends, and the general crappy feel that seems to be getting worse I've been thinking of jumping ship anyway. Hopefully I can catch up on the happenings here shortly and start being an active part of the mturk forum community.

 

It's 99% spammy. (Ha! The UN makes sense now! lol.)

 

Especially considering that she's got it set up so that she gets a kickback by linking to Amazon through TN. I wonder how much it has added up to so far...for TN maintenance of course

 

I forgot to mention earlier that I found it strange there was so many posts discussing kids, cats, plants and the NBA playoffs with no relation to mTurk. I have never seen that in a forum before.

 

It's because no talk about actual turking is allowed at the forum. Seriously.

Ya' know, I've known that Amazon owns TN for a couple of months now because I did some digging a while back but don't remember why, but THAT explains why I got infractions for mentioning other wah sites, which in my book, they weren't but whatever. I always thought it was weird that they would not allow us to discuss other places to make money since that's why everyone is on that forum anyway and what better place to share other sites that one can use to support themselves, but now it's all making sense to me now...It's probably one of Amazon's conditions. I just wish they would have picked a person that, A, is not on a permanent power-trip, and, B, is not so damn nasty and mean to folks.

 

Oh and I found it strange that she said she used Mturk to pay her bills, but with her being from CA, I never understood that because of the whole giftcard thing and I'm sure utility companies don't take those LOL.
