How has Mechanical Turk helped you? Is it a great side income, or your primary income? What does it help you buy, necessities or better items that you wouldn't otherwise afford?
It's definitely just fun money for me. I'm hoping I can work up to making enough each month to pay my health insurance!
It's great pocket money for me. I can spend Mturk money when I hang out instead of dipping into my bank accounts, it really helps me save money.
pocket change Mturk has killed my online wasting of time. I use to love to surf the web and just ok or search blogs and podcast. When now i log in to mturk and with a goal to make a grand in a month it gives me something to aim at . making it more of a game then work.
2 years ago, I was making 100 bucks a day or more, 1 year ago, about half of that. Now, it sucks, hopefully it will get better, but who knows. But to answer your question, it has paid my rent, paid for all of my christmas gifts for everyone, gotten me a PS3, A laptop, multiple games, mp3 players, BEER, and a thousand things that I can't remember ATM. There's ways to make money on here, you just have to find your own niche.
That's incredible. Even though it's hardly possible now it is interesting to know that it could have been done back in the day. Hopefully there will be more requests as more and more people find out about this service.
mTurk is my side income and I use it to buy thing off of amazon just as little gifts to others and myself, but I have also used it for bills and groceries.
mturk will help me buy 72 decks of playing cads. i`m into magic.. so i need those playing cards.. and 72 decks.. is like 3 years worth of magic
it pays my bills. I cant really complain. but i wish they would do something about some hits. the pay is very minimal.
Mturk has definitely made me spend more productive time on line, If I am going to be here for so many hours a week I might as well receive a nominal fee.
I just found out about it a few days ago. Right now my plan is just use it enough to pay for Christmas next year. Kind of like a savings account. Depending on the hits I find, of course. My goal, which I've managed to surpass is 1.00 a day. Not much, I know, but every little bit helps.
I have learned to be a better typist, and I've learned to scan a lot of information and pick out the stuff I'm looking for more quickly.
Mturk is my side income. But it helps me pay bills and I feel good to earn money from the comfort of my home, work as and when I feel like. I agree that good hits are kind of drying up, or else they get grabbed pretty soon. One second I am checking out the hit, and the next moment it is gone within seconds of getting loaded. Hits now do not pay as much as it was earlier, with some reqestors paying a dollar less on their hits as compared to what they paid previously. I suppose these are the after effects of the current economic crisis.
I just look up at that balance earned and think about the numerous packs of cigs or gallons of gas or dinners with my girl it has purchased me and it's more than enough.
I use it to buy homeschool supplies and materials. We have one income and this will eventually help pay the bills.
I was literally 100% flat broke. I live with my parents still, but starting mturk has at least allowed me money for like shampoo and toothpaste. Its nice to not have to worry about little things like that.
