Finding Great HITs 11/08 Flashy Festive Fraternal Friday

Hello, can someone explain this to me? Does it mean that we can't just get the money whenever we want and we have to schedule it? Or, something else? I do not understand the wording at all. Thank you!

We are delighted to announce that a new simplified Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) payment disbursement option will be available on December 15, 2019. This new option will enable you to have your MTurk payments deposited directly into your US bank account on a regular schedule. You can adjust your payment settings to occur every 7, 14, 30 or 60 days depending on the cadence that works best for you. We encourage you to set up direct transfer through the MTurk website starting December 15, 2019 as we will discontinue the Amazon Payments disbursement option on January 15, 2020 in lieu of direct US bank account transfers for eligible MTurk Workers.

I don't think anyone really knows at this time, it's kind of vague and everyone is just speculating.

Hoping we can still transfer whenever we want in addition to this new automatic schedule. I like to transfer when I hit a certain amount.

 

I'm with @Markb I'm gonna wait to form an opinion until they provide more information. Frankly it might be nice not to have the added send it to the payments account step, but it all depends on how flexible it is.

 

Reading it, it does say "we will discontinue the Amazon Payments disbursement option on January 15, 2020". So I do think we will be stuck with a set payment schedule. I hope I'm wrong. That one day when the system was down must put a fire under their ass not to allow that to happen again.

 

That's what I do as well. I guess it isn't mandatory that I do that. I just like it because it gives me a better idea of how I am doing. I hope the follow up emails make more sense.

 

I actually think the reason our payments went haywire was they accidentally loaded some coding to Amazon Payments which caused it to malfunction. In other words they were testing out the new system and somehow it interfered with the old system. You remember how MTurk was buggy as they were making changes to the dashboard and stuff behind the scenes. So I the fucked up overpayments were caused by this new system coming into play and it's not the reason the system is being changed. I just think Amazon bastards are greedy and want to hold on to our payments longer. It's that simple.
