Just as with black board and many other sites like rubins they dont always do it for every school.

I took a look at their site and it looks like they ask for courses when people submit a new school. I tried a few dozen schools, none of which were added. You could always add them.

MedCrowd will likely return next week, if not, the week after.

Well, wherever they operate from their practices have changed drastically in the past 7-10 days.

Something seems different today in the way they are clearing hits. Just from my own experience I usually see my approved pending hits go to paid in the late morning and late evening on the west coast. I don't know what is going on but there were some technical problems with mturk this morning I guess, I saw people in the thread mentioning it but I don't know the details.

The rubins seem weird. I got a couple doubles, and it's find the course number and they give you the course number... *shrug*

Anyone done any of these hits? Good TO, but only from one person.

  8. I have this huge closet and it's filled with clothes because I like to look pretty and hate being wasteful. I don't know why i told you that, because this is about the attic.

So I went up in the attic just scrounging through boxes because I was cross-buzzing on sleep depravity and message board drama burnout. Well, I found a pair of jeans up there while on my adventure. These weren't just any normal pair of jeans, but a pair from when I was in ~7th grade. Now as luck would have it, I was a pretty chunky 7th grader who had already hit 6', and the style was to wear jeans that were too big anyway, so they are only a slightly ridiculously too short.

The point is, I'm going out for a bit in jeans I got when I was twelve...and felt like typing it here for some reason. Good day.

I just did this one. It took me like 7 minutes, but I'm kind of slow.

Probably still on holiday. I looked up their staff and office. They're in the bay area. I'm trying to figure out how they make money with their service.

  11. Transcribe as in typing out what I'm listening to? I think I can do that. I haven't really looked into transcription HITs because they always seem like they require a lot for very little pay.

This is true. I guess people that do them will have to just wait and see.

I'm guessing schools have to pay a huge licensing/access fee to use the platform, like Blackboard or JSTOR, etc.

I heard the Europe thing on here, but after your post I went and read some of their press releases and apparently they are still in the phase of setting up their business model, they aren't too worried about being profitable yet. They've gotten quite a bit of money from investors though so there are people who are betting on them figuring it out.

Edit: Like many tech companies they could be outsourcing some of their work overseas, although I doubt Europe, India is more likely.

You can make great money is you can transcribe, Id say when I'm feeling it I can make 1round 16-20 per hour. And thats hour after hour, its less hit or miss. Like normal hits.

Dunno what Blackboard or JSTOR is. Were they on Mturk?

Yeah someone told me about the Netherlands and I thought it was odd. I suppose they do make way through licensing. I half wish I was still a CS student because I'd love to give it a try with some of my old professors.
