i've been doing hits for six and a half years. i consider discovering m-turk to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me and i'm not exaggerating. the secondary income i get is very important to me. basically, my m-turk savings goes into an "emergency" fund so that i don't have to freak out if some unexpected expense arises. part of my savings will also go towards the purchase of my next car. all that said, m-turk is flawed and there are quite a few things about it that need to be changed. my topic mainly is rejectons. there are few things in my life that frustrate me as much as unfair rejections. other things under this umbrella include new york ranger playoff losses (when they qualify for the playoffs, that is), any yankee post season loss (darn those astros) and one sided political tirades. pardon my rambling. my approval rating is 99.87% covering six and a half years. that is also my body temperature when i am a bit sick. at any rate, the problem with rejections is that they are often unfair. it's like giving a student an "F" when he/she deserved a "C" or even a "D". any work the worker did amounts do a big fat zero. the middle of a bagel. nothing. goose egg. it's just not fair. at least half of my 413 rejections have been unfair; due to things such as lack of clarity by the requester and misunderstandings. some requesters will reverse rejections. to get others to do so is like trying to get the rangers to win the stanley cup; it just won't happen. EFFORT should count. now don't get me wrong. a respondent who turns in garbage work should get his work rejected. i'm talking about garbage work here; such as the 1962 new york mets as i continue lousy sports analogies here. i'm not even going to start on stupid attention checks. to pass some attention checks is as difficult as graduating from Harvard. to sum it up, i love m-turk but that doesn't mean it doesn't have serious issues. thankfully m-turk finally devised a system of providng average approval ratings given by all requesters. problem is obvious: so many are so new that they have no rating or their rating is based on such a small sample that it is meaningless. IF ANY REQUESTER is reading this, consider doing what so many of the top notch requesters do: give out the base rate in all cases except for awful, shoddy work. then give what you consider superior work a bonus. thank you for reading all this and i wish everyone a great thursday. . GO YANKEES.i haven't given up but it's going to be tough. houston's starters are superior to the yankees; no doubt.

Rejections suck and it's even worse when requesters don't respond to messages. Irks me that they purposely choose not to respond.

Feel free to join us at the Great HITs daily thread where we hang out. You'll probably get responses there than here.
