Their site's been down at least a couple of weeks. None of us have been able to do any of their hits.

  3. I don't know what your talking about, as far as none. But they been working fine for me.

Firefox says their connection is untrusted..its something to do with them not updating thier security certificate or their clocks being wrong I think - there have been a few comments about it recently.

Yeah, their security certificate expired Nov 1st. You can go into your security settings in the browser and add an exception for them if you want to still work on their hits. Just depends on whether you're comfortable doing that or not.

Right, so their site is not down. It's a security certificate issue, which is not at all the same as their site being down. Especially in the case of a date discrepancy, it's not really a risk to add them as an exception, either.

FYI, using Chromium (the equivalent of Chrome, in Linux) just now, the HIT just showed me an error. However, I've heard that using the Opera browser solves the problem, so if you want to download that, it should work. :) Opera's free.

ETA: Here's the part of a thread in which the posts were made that figured this out. It all got tacked onto the end of a thread about SpeechInk so was probably hard to search for!

If you rewind your clock to october, it should work in all browsers. I wish that they would answer emails.

  9. I use Opera Browser for Redwood Hits.

When I sent them an email, this is what they sent Thanks for the message, we'll get back to you as soon as possible! I would change my date too until I noticed how the timer doesnt work when you do that and since I'm a coward I stopped doing that so amazon doesnt think i'm cheating or anything for more time lol

I remember you saying they worked for you in opera in the greatest hit thread, so I downloaded it and they work. Thanks!

Yea, Redwood isn't exactly communicative. I'm using my powers to get email addresses for someone higher up there within Redwood. Will get back to you guys!
EDIT: or not... I can't access their site.

What is their site? maybe it will work in opera. I just googled "Redwood" but they didnt come up.

  13. I LOL'ed at this comment. It's true, the timer won't work if you mess with your clock. But I can't see how it becomes cheating. You didn't get the actual point. The timer you see in the HIT is just for your indication and it's only mocking the real timer on Amazon's end. Even if you slow down you PC clock, it won't slow down the actual timer on the other end and the HIT will expire just after the time allotted for the HIT. You might see there's still time left, but when you submit, it will show up as "The deadline for this HIT has already passed".

doesnt work in opera either!!! well.. i guess the only thing to do now is wait and hope they will fix this soon. A message saying they are currently working on this would have been nice. we've emailed them and their site is down so idk what else anyone can do but use opera or change the date. :/

haha oooh... you see, I thought that stopped the time completely and that amazon would catch that we were stopping the time and spank us. nvm then lol

If you wish to work on them until they fix their certificate issue you can just add a security exception in Firefox (and Chrome too I would imagine, but I don't use it so I don't know the exact steps). Here's how to do it in Firefox:

    Tools -> Options
    Click on "Advanced" tab
    Click on "Encryption" tab
    Click on "View Certificates"
    Click on "Servers" tab
    Click on "Add Exception..."
    Type https://redwoodtech.net
    Click "Get Certificate"
    Click "Confirm Security Exception"
    Click "OK"

  17. ^^ That worked. Thanks.

Thanks for advice all... anyone had trouble with the image / caption review HITs? Sometimes it won't let me select whether the requirements were met or not, and can't do anything else except return the HIT. Hmmmm.... (Firefox)
