  1. I think you are misunderstanding what is being said. I've been on this thread all day and not once did I see anyone "put down" those with Masters Qual.. What they are saying is that those who SCAM requesters are the reason why the rest of us are being punished, so to speak. There doesn't seem to be any specific way to get the Masters Qual aside from being randomly assigned it.. Many of us spend entire days on MTurk, working hard to make money. I know I personally spend between 10-12 hours a day working on tasks/surveys, and the thought of all of a sudden all the good tasks being assigned to those with Master Quals is scary.. Once one popular requester does it, chances are, more and more will start doing the same thing. How is that fair? I think that's the fear a lot of us in here have.. If Amazon made it clear how they assign master quals, maybe it would give the rest of us something to strive for.

This is problematic for two reasons:

    1) It goes against the whole point of redundant tasks that number in the thousands. If one requester could literally go through tens of thousands of HITs and verify accuracy, they would just do it themselves in the first place. This isn't practical.
    2) Now the scammers that happen to have the masters qual, which it is my understanding that some could, will just fill in bob@someschool.k12.us and have it overlooked.

But even if he did this, wouldn't the scammers still qualify??? I mean if they don't actually do the hit, wouldn't they likely easily have 100000+ HITS?? I don't see how raising the # of approved HITS would help him avoid being scammed, which may be why he decided to have this bogus Masters qual anyway :-( I miss those. And they are almost at 80k now

These are pretty much my favorite HITs, 14 cents and they take 20-30 seconds once you get used to doing them and have a fast internet connection.

They are posted periodically throughout the day, so get them whenever they are around ^^ (40 of them done so far today)

EDIT:I always have a search tab with them in it, and i f5 it whenever I can

this is something i've always wondered about on HITs like this...which is where the trusted worked thing comes in
honestly all of this could be solved with their own 'Trusted Worker' qual, even one like MedCrowd does

As I'm sure you already know, the big problem is not that a few requesters CHOSE to make their HITs Masters Qualified only. The big problem is the MASSIVE number of requester's HITs that have automatically defaulted to that requirement due to AMT's new requester set-up.

I can handle the Tim HITs going Masters only. I don't like it - but I can deal with it. But recently an extraordinarily high number of HITs, especially from new requesters, have defaulted to this requirement. If I was a requester I would appreciate some one emailing me to let me know I had that qualification set, especially if I didn't mean to.

the hits approved don't make much sense to me about quality since someone who works 10 hours doing batches will have much more hits than someone who spends 10 hours doing surveys and they might both provide identical quality work.
