Hey All, I have given my 2 weeks notice yesterday. I will be leaving my post here to build my career in a more "research" focused direction. I will still be reachable for the next week or so, so don't be shy! What does this mean for Medcrowd? This means that work will still be coming through. As far as I know they want me to pull together training manuals (for my co-workers) so that they can continue to push work out to you all. I am hoping to get regular work moving again before my departure. Its been a pleasure working with you all and I personally appreciate your continued support through the last year and a half (as bumpy as it may have been at times). Thanks! ~ Mark L.
Will be sad to see you go. Over the last year and a half you have been one of the best requester some of us have had the pleasure to work for.
Thank you for all of the help and guidance you have given us with the tasks. Good luck to you and your family.
Chalk me up as another sorry to see you go. By far the best requester I've ever worked for. You'll be a hard act to follow.
Oh no, logged in after a week to see if there would be any new work, and God what do I see here. You were and would remain one of the best requester on Mturk. You will be missed dearly.
There is more Medcrowd. My boss is making me put together a training manual for my co-workers so that they can all start pushing work out to you. This would mean more work more frequently once things get going. Stay tuned! I am also planning time to sit with my boss to see if she approves my budget. If she does, I will hopefully start rolling out work to you all before I leave (next Wednesday is my last day!) ~ Mark L.
All the best to you and your family, now and in the future, Mark. And thanks for everything you've done for us, and continue to do. I don't know of any other requester who has been so conscientious about their workers.
What does this mean for the new masters qual then? Will we still have that extra work for that qual we were expecting ?
Be sure to let whoever you train know that your fast approvals, quick answers to questions, not rejecting and good TO are the reasons you get good results. Taking away any of these things could result in the mturk community losing complete interest in the HITs. Also being nice and social with the workers on these forums helps a lot, too. You'll be missed, Mark. Good luck with your future career and family. Feel free to drop by the daily thread if you find yourself turking(I know you've done some other HITs yourself).
The new masters qual will stick around. For Medcrowd it is a way for us to save money on our end. As some of you have figured out we ask multiple workers for an answer which inflates the cost per HIT on our end. The master qual will pay more money out to each worker, but we take the worker at their word since we've verified through an extensive test that they provide quality results across all questions involved (as well as having been with us for over a year). Please, to those that have it (I don't even think I need to say this but I will). Do not get sloppy. Even for those who do not have it yet! Do not get sloppy. The better results you give, the better chance that medcrowd will stick around and provide work. They DO want to provide MORE work, not just Dentist or Facility, but Group Practice, and other "filtering" type questions (similar to the review moderation we tested a few months ago [which may come to fruition also]). Please Please, be patient. The work WILL come, I did re-confirm that with my boss today. I will be providing details to them so they can access all boards and communicate with you all as I have done in the past. They know how much I do to communicate with you all and I hope that they continue to do so. There is a future here for Medcrowd to keep putting work out, but its on you guys. We just got the approved budget back from Finance (which they are not sharing with me since I'm leaving). The new tasks may be priced differently, especially since I know that we did not get approved for everything we asked for. The future HITs may pay less / HIT, but their plans are to have more types of HITs running. Bear with them in the time of transition (whenever they get started) and it should pay off for you all in the long run. For the people who want to get qualified and are waiting...not sure when they will qualify new workers, but I am encouraging them to keep the flow moving 1) regular quals eventually to 2) pre-master qualified to 3) master qualified. Please ask any questions you have before I leave (next Wednesday) so I can address them accordingly. I also ask that you read back a few pages just in case I have already answered them to save me time Thanks! ~ Mark L.
His last day is tomorrow so I would assume not Though I did figure he would of posted one batch with some of his co-workers so they could see how it was done.
