I wish A2RJYQKHZX1W83 would hurry up and accept their HIT. I'm getting tired of all the false alarms from Jonathan Grenier today.

That requester always seems to have additional requirements that he doesn't mention until after you've already started the survey... I shake a fist at him.
Apparently Andy K is up. Go to their website. http://www.speechink.com Sign up, read their getting started guide, proceed accordingly. They are the easiest to understand, guide-wise, IMO. But I'd highly recommend taking your time at first. Honestly I've found surveys to be better money, but perhaps that's because at best I can type 77 WPM. And my hearing isn't up to par. If you are interested though, they're alright as far as transcription goes. I've never had a rejection from them. One thing I highly suggest, especially if you're new, is to avoid their Verbatim HITs at all costs. And for non-verbatim HITs, be sure to preview the audio before accepting. They have, hands down bar none, the most intuitive and convenient 'template' for their HITs, though. As in, they have keybinds to go back and forth and pause the audio, right within the HIT window. But be careful not to hit your back button. It sounds overwhelming and intimidating, and admittedly it can be at first, but if you're paying attention and doing the best you can, you'll be fine. They're good about providing feedback as well. Good luck.
Depends on where you live. $50K/year in a Big City might not be enough. Also, some folks want to supplement. Also, if you have a lot of debt, you may still be struggling on $50K/year. Lots of reasons to turk.
Title: Survey Requester: Prof. Nina Mazar [A1JYWF4XFMTAQ0] (TO) Description: Welcome to our survey! It will take approx. 2 minutes. Reward: $0.30 Qualifications: HIT approval rate (%) is not less than 95, Location is US Link: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=26NJ8MZ9O9Z6STF74NQHNRRROW509W Powered by non-amazonian script monkeys Good TO. Says 2 minutes approximately.
That's interesting, I would give the opposite advice. I've found the verbatim ones way easier and I've gotten a reject on a non-verbatim. I think better advice is try both and see what works for you.

Thanks, considering them because they have a longer time limit, and this week I'm waking up too late to do surveys that pay well. How quickly does SpeechInk pay after hit submission?
