Slow night so I'm going to watch GoT and see if I can figure out some of the answers to the confusion I have. So many people . . . where is my paper to make my list of who is from what house.

Okay, Hunter's 8 second claim earlier i say if it happened probably happened once and is a fluke lol. However....

You can get these done in 20-30 seconds on average and quite commonly if you get good sites unlike LC which i've been waiting on for 6:01 seconds at this point. LOL #effyouLC You do not need to read every review, only the most recent to see if they are still open.

You do 'em your way, I'll do 'em mine.

They're doing something with the information they collect and throwing around a lot of money to get it. There will come a day when either the work is shoddy and they walk away or rejections will start.

I've checked several of them with web sites only to find it was no longer functional. It would have been super fast and super easy to paste the URL into the HIT, say it was open, and move on to the next one. Just because there's a web site doesn't mean it's open.

I agree with you for once :D

    but

Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, Smoothie King, etc, closed since 2001 are easily sub 10 seconds on a fast comp.

That's true. But you have to find the third party site that has a review, sort it by the date, and read it, right?

I can't see how 8 seconds is possible.

You should update his TO that's full of broken HITs complaints with instructions.

Those are definitely the easiest for sure, googleable store pages and all. Running an i7 processor, 8 gigs of ram, on 30 mb internet and I still don't get these done in less than 10. However, if you are congrats, it must be the gamma-o. ;)

When I was working on the 0 qual ones, I swear I didn't see anything in the instructions about pasting the official site *with* the address showing in the box. That's something I was wondering about while I was going through those. Oh well, that's something for me to improve on in the next batch of 0 qual HITs that pops.

The flow chart is good, but I agree with justcolleen. Particularly for non-chain sites, the official website by itself didn't seem good enough - unless it had been updated recently. In fact, I thought the instructions said something to that effect - that if it wasn't a chain with multiple locations that third party verification was necessary.

I can't see a way to make them any faster than 30 seconds, just doing the verification part and making sure the addresses are correct alone. Muscle memory of clicking and pasting/dragging is one thing, but you have to fit the human element of verification in there somewhere too. I'm not even sure why this is still being argued about. One of the people who was such a proponent of this method was told they got a warning e-mail to slow down.

There are definitely some instructions they could clarify for newer newbies that aren't clear through the flowchart. I'd guess most of the minutiae are buried in the TOTW thread, which I should scour before the next inevitable batch appears. I actually very much like the hit, and even got into a rhythm with them, and very much want to do them well.

Actually no. 3rd party are not necessary unless the site looks sketchy or obviously old.

"Message from Taste of the World
    ---------------------------------
Hi all - we should be launching a new batch, similar to yesterday's, within the next hour or so. Before you get started, we wanted to clarify a few things:

    1. If the restaurant listing includes an official URL, please use this as your primary source to start research. For chains, use the store locator. For smaller restaurants, if the site seems up to date and the address is accurate that should be sufficient evidence to call it open.
    2. If no URL is provided, please try to search for one. We're working on modifying the hit so the Official Website button will lead to a simple Google search if no URL currently exists.
    3. This may not have been clear from the instructions, but an official website is the best source for evidence that a restaurant is open. If you have this evidence, you don't necessarily need third party reviews (although the more links we have, the better! it's just not needed in order to deem a restaurant open)."

This is the reason they have different steps of qualifications 0, 50, and 100 because the hits do have a subjective nature to them and they want to make sure their most trusted workers have the 100 qual. Essentially if the site looks like a site from the 1990's with a huge under construction banner gif on it, you probably should look for a 3rd party. If it looks like it has up to date coding and/or says it was updated recently, just the official site is fine. You NEVER have to find a 3rd party for any chains, if a subway for instance doesn't show a location, it's closed, period.

Good Evening , hope everyone had an awesome mturking day today. My day: dug clay mud off a footer for 3 hours, cut block with a concrete saw for 2 hours and laid block for 5 hours. total: $150. I was thinking about those who made $200 off of the FE hits yesterday while I was digging today. ;p Did I miss anything good today?
