They haven't always had a qual, they used to be open to anyone over 5k. Those that did the non-qual batches received a qual. They're currently weeding out bad workers and other tweaks and stated that they are looking to put up another qualifying batch in the future.
For those who have been asking, we've got a small batch up now to qualify new workers. I tried to add everyone who requested a new qual, but if I missed you please PM us with your worker ID!
So if we cannot find a specific store on the official site, should the official site be typed into the box anyway? Is it basically just trying to find a review / comment on facebook within the last 6 months, or else it can be considered closed? I find myself being a bit too cautious to be able to get through these in a timely manner so far.
If they're not on the official site chances are they're closed. I usually still check Yelp or Facebook just in case though. Paranoid.
What should you do when an official site doesn't have a specific page to show the store you want, but it always sends you to google maps?
TOTW accepts the generic locator url as proof. As long as you have ensured that the location in question is on the site you can put the non specific url in the HIT eg http://www.starbucks.com/store-locator. Does that help?
Ok, I think we've added everyone who sent us a PM or email. If the HITs run out on this test batch today, we can probably run another one later this week. FYI, here's the current status of the TOTW Reviewer qual: Score 0 = new worker, must do a test batch to earn promotion to score 50 Score 50 = current worker, we will evaluate ongoing to promote to 100 Score 100 = reviewer, has access to more HITs and answers are more "trusted"
Hey totw! We are having a discussion on the great hits thread re: Papa Murphys. Is it the case that you want those marked as "not a restaurant"? Want to make sure I am doing them correctly in the future
well... I'm not totw... but... considering they offer takeout appetizers, desserts, salads, and beverages, all of which are fully prepared and ready to consume... i've always marked them as a restaurant... the only thing you cook yourself is the pizza, but you could get an entire meal in takeout from them just like any other restaurant just in appetizers and drinks.
Yeah that is what I said in the main forum but some other users agreed that it's not a restaurant and started marking that as such. :/

Hey - sorry for our silence on this one. We've been having some intense internal debate - I think in some cases we may have directed you in one way, and other times in another. So, to put a stake in the ground, from here on out we'll consider them non-restaurants. We won't ding anyone's performance or reject any hits, in case you've marked these as restaurants in the past.
