I don't want to talk politics but this is different. I am grieving for the country and it has nothing to do with the party.

 

I am genuinely frightened and sickened.

 

I have voted Republican before and grew up in a republican home. Donald Trump is no Republican or American. Pence is is also terrible. He enacted the RFRA law. They r both abominable and a great national security threat.

 

But I am liberal now.

 

I've been watching the balls on and off since the '60's. Flora won't let us get into politics here anyway. I think she'll redact @sks' comment.

I don't remember doing any. I was away all day, and then fell asleep on the couch all night.

 

Strangely, in my youth in the '60's, I was conservative, even while everything was going on around me. As I got older, I moved more towards liberal, and now I define myself as "very liberal" on surveys. I think it depends what kind of experiences you've had in your life. I've had lesbian friends, I know what poverty feels like, I was in the frontlines of the Women's Movement, I saw the horrors of the Civil Right Movement, I know what it's like to need SNAP (formerly Food Stamps) because you can't live on Social Security, etc...

People who have had other life experiences have crafted their politics accordingly.

I liked Reagan as a person, and I know his marraige was a great love story that lasted many years. I watched Obama winning in 2008, and we all cried because we had lived through the Civil Right Movement.

Took the test, passed, it's still telling me I'm disqual. They gave me a score of 10, and I need 30. Don't know how that's posssible in a 3-question test where I got them all correct. Screw them.
